Seven power plants down, 1,899MW lost

Seven power plants down, 1,899MW lost

This is quite Alarming. Those it mean we do not have power experts to fix of these mess that has been lingering for years? Their is a lot of diversification in power generation in most countries across the world. We have the Hydro, Coal, Solar,Wind, etc. So why is Nigeria power sector not diversifying? What happened to our Coal plant in Enugu? why are we solely dependent on gas for power supply, the way we are dependent on crude oil for our economy growth.

Consequently, i was listening to a channel on TV, they were discussing on Power generation diversification and it was so obvious that yes, we have experts in the power sector that can turn things around. I heard them talking about the MINI GRID and other renewable energy. I have seen wonderful write up on the newspaper on EMBEDDED GENERATION, of which if these great ideas are implemented our power supply will definitely increase.

However, I am hopeful that the newly elected NERC commissioners will bail out the situation so that we can permanently come out from this mess. Because Electricity boost the country's economy.
